It makes Christians look stupid, naive, and gullible.
One question I have for End-Times junkies is this: Is our passion for the end of the world based upon our perception that Christianity is doing poorly in our locale? Christianity is indeed being further marginalised culturally and politically in what was once terra firma for Christians: North America and Europe. But it is doing quite well elsewhere, and it is a pitiful arrogance that leads us to think that because things are not as they were, we are at the end of time.
The Gospel is doing well. The harvest is not finished. Our world is shaken, but it is not the end of the world.
Now, after this introduction, I recommend this article. Let us suppose that the Ark of the Covenant is known and revealed. In light of Christ, the New Testament, especially the Gospels, Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews, how can this matter at all?
Sad thing is, it will matter much to the likes of Grant Jeffrey and other pop media stars in the Christian galaxy.

I always thought Matthew 24:14 brings some sanity to the "Signs of the Times-ers" It takes our eyes off Jerusalem and puts it back on the nations, the "ethne". Right where Gods gaze always was/is. The Church age (Millennium in my view)sees Satan held back because his power was broken at the first coming, to allow the Global testimony to be achieved.
Three interesting words put together here.
"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, AND THEN and then the end will come."
KINGDOM -basileia - Insightful when we remember it means meaning God's Rule, or Right to rule)
TESTIMONY marturion - Always make me think of Rev 6:9 Same word for testimony and verse 11 the words "The number" killed is fulfilled, God has a number in mind- he knows it?.
Always Reminds me of the phrase. "Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in" Romans 11:25
NATIONS Ethne - people groups. Not geopolitical states. Consistent with rev 5 & 7 where The blood Purchases and then take to heaven around the throne people form every tribe, people, language, nation. Was that just wishful thinking in the use of images & symbols?
